What is the difference between bibimbap and bulgogi?

One is beef bulgogi, a meal of marinated thin-sliced rib-eye steak that’s served with vegetables over rice. Another popular dish is bibimbap, an assortment of seasonal vegetables and beef over rice, topped with a fried egg and a spicy sauce.

Does bibimbap have bulgogi in it?

Nowadays, you’ll find Bibimbap with all sorts of meat toppings but the traditional version is made with thinly sliced beef. The beef seasoning is usually a slightly toned down version of Bulgogi (Korean Marinated Beef). We don’t need big flavour on the beef because the Bibimbap Sauce adds tons of flavour.

What makes it a bibimbap?

It’s called bibimbap (pronounced “bee-BIM-bop”)—bibim meaning “mixed” and bap meaning “rice.” This beloved Korean bowl incorporates steamed white rice with assorted fresh, marinated, and sautéed vegetables along with raw or seared meat, if desired.

Why does bibimbap taste so good?

The combination of fresh vegetables of various colors, rice,and meat fills the bowl with a sense of harmony achieved with a low caloric intake.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g beef
  • Appropriate amount Korean hot sauce
  • one egg
  • 200 g spinach
  • 200 g Soybean sprouts
  • 100 g carrot
  • 100 g mushroom
  • Appropriate amount Sesame
  • Appropriate amount onion
  • Appropriate amount rice

Instructions
 

  • Prepare a pot of white rice.

  • Prepare spinach and soybean sprouts and blanch them in water. Add mushrooms and carrots to the pan and stir-fry until cooked.

  • Slice the beef, add onions, minced ginger, salt, sugar, barbecue ingredients, cooking wine, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, a little chili powder, and oil, mix well and marinate for a while.

Notes

The rice must be hot, so that the half-boiled eggs will be cooked using the residual heat of the rice. You can also add your favorite vegetables. Any vegetables that don’t have a lot of moisture are fine.
